We all know that playing is lots of fun for kids. If you had any doubts, just watch how carefree, cheery and happy children are when they are taking part in an activity and enjoying it. From the earliest age, play is the primary way that children are able to learn and it fuels the healthy development of young children. As it turns out, there is more to play than just enjoying yourself and having a good time. Research has shown that children who are regularly active in play develop well on many levels including physical, emotional, mental and social. This theory dates back to acclaimed psychologists such as Freud and continues to be strongly supported by child development experts. Play is a vital part of a child’s development and it’s an essential part of growing up. It helps them to interpret, imagine, create, interact with others, explore, be fast, be slow, be loud and be quiet. When children are engaged in play, they are presented with certain situations, interactions and challenges. Although play is fun, it does have a purpose and helps a child develop valuable skills. It’s through play that children learn about the world around them, so it’s important to appreciate how valuable play is in the development of children. Soft play centres often use exciting equipment that encourages kids to be creative, use their imagination and get involved in exploratory play. Kids will create their own adventures there from crawling through a maze to working out how to jump from one obstacle to another. They can run, jump, bounce and catch balls, all within in a safe and happy environment. Through this physical play, it will help them to develop agility, balance and improve their co-ordination. Many centres will also have a particular theme from a pirate ship to a wild jungle and the different play equipment will be influenced by this. Through unstructured play, children learn to become more expressive and more curious. They learn to take risks in a forgiving atmosphere and the experience is enormously beneficial. Soft play also encourages role playing and other imaginative activities that just get them thinking and it also provides a safe play area within a controlled environment. The soft play apparatus in play centres is designed to be soft so that it is safe for children to play on. Rigid structures usually are covered with padding with similar soft matting on the floor. Areas will be closed off with safety netting to prevent any accidents or falls but can still give unrestricted views of your kids at play. At soft play centres, there will be a variety of different activities for you’re your child to get involved in and they may be located on different levels, giving lots of space for your child to explore. The centre may include climbing frames, obstacle courses, building blocks, slides, ball pools, crawl tubes, rope brides, inflatables and nets to scramble across. It’s the chance for children to dive in and go exploring on their own, with friends or interact with other children who are there playing. For health and safety, most centres will regulate that children must wear just their socks when inside the play area and not allow shoes on the play equipment. Exploratory soft play help children learn new motor skills in a fun and stimulating environment. It also helps to develop physical activity and encourages them to enjoy exercising but makes it feel exciting and lots of fun for them. Children, who take part in active play, learn other motor skills that are not taught in organized sports. What could be better than your child burning off energy and letting off some steam, developing important skills and most importantly doing something that they enjoy? In a soft play centre, they could be kept amused for hours. In some soft play centres, there will be a separate baby and toddler area, making it a safe and interesting environment for smaller children. And, of course, while all this social and personal development is going on, parents have the opportunity to relax and chat over a cup of tea and a magazine! It’s the ideal situation and goes some way to explain the major growth of soft play in the province. Entry prices for soft play centres of course vary, but rates are usually reasonable and if visiting a centre is something that your kids are going wild for, some also offer the option of a monthly membership which may work out to be a cost effective method too. We are commissioning softplay systems throughout India and one of the leading manufacturers of soft play systems, our company is based in Delhi. Please feel free to contact us for any consultancy related to establishing play zones, installation of soft play systems & designing in any themes softplay station.
